If you're reading this and haven’t come across anything or much on your ego and soul before -- watch my video on YouTube called “How the Ego keeps you in fear and your Soul sets you free.” The Ego is all about me/I, as opposed to your Soul which is all about we/us.

As I mentioned in the video, the ego’s role is to protect you; your self-image from any danger and makes you fear and doubt yourself and situations. The ego plays an important role in your survival, by helping you to react swiftly in a situation that could be dangerous (fight or flight), and was especially important for our primal ancestors to protect us from physical danger. However, can become excessive and overpowers the soul if you are unaware of how it works. It’s associated with your personal self, your identity and it can limit you from growing and evolving, preventing you from finding your purpose in life. It creates illusions for you to fear for its own survival.

Ideally in order to quiet the ego you need to first become aware of your soul and let it guide you towards living a more soul-led life. You need to shift from the ego; being self-centred and needing validation and fulfilment from outside of yourself and listen to the soul and learn to accept yourself finding fulfilment within. Cultivating and embracing unconditional love, compassion, peace for yourself and others. Living in the moment, looking inside yourself for inner guidance and having trust and faith in your soul and 'The Divine', whilst standing back and observing the ego, knowing and understanding that the ego is always coming from a place of fear and creating illusions. This will then help you to recognise more easily the ego’s influence in any situation.

Once you identify the ego stepping in, you can evaluate whether there is a real threat or if it’s the ego over reacting. Try not to judge if you catch yourself being motivated by the ego as this will get you caught up in the ego and will send you down the rabbit hole of heavy dense emotions. If you find yourself doing that, pause and focus on being kind, forgiving yourself and remembering that you're a soul living a human experience. It will take time.

Your mind and ego relates to your personal self in this lifetime and is finite. It will die when your body dies.

Your soul is energy and so is eternal.
